Wow, absolutely AMAZING! 🙂
Thanks Aimee! I thought so too, the show was incredible!
Your brother’s art is amazing. Is it available to purchase?
Yes! Email me at vedgedout@gmail.com and I will forward your email to Abe. Thanks!
Marie, just talked to Abe. Email him directly at abemccowan@gmail.com Thanks again!
Oh my goodness! This looks amazing! I’ve gotta try your recipes! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Kim! I hope you enjoy them!
Oh my goodness, you weren’t kidding about all the food you had to provide! Looks like it was a great success 🙂 Strangely, my oldest brother is a pen and ink artist. Haven’t seen him in 20 some years, he’s in China currently. You’re so lucky and your brother as well to have helped out at this. A great opportunity for both of you I’m sure 🙂 Great job Somer!
When Abe first contacted me, he thought there would be about 30 people at the show. The week of the event, the number had grown closer to 90. I estimate that in the end, there were over 150 people who came through the show. Good thing we switched to smaller plates! We had plenty of food for everyone and even sent some home to starving college students.
That’s sad you haven’t seen your brother in so long! I’d love to see his work.
It was such a wonderful thing to be a part of. Putting this post together had me all emotional. I’m so proud of him. xx
And him of you, I’m sure ♥
And I’ll bet your lovely menu had something to do with it OR…a LOT to do with it!
Haha! Nope, can’t take any credit for that. It was all Abe, the food was just a benefit.
You did a lovely job, Somer! Yum……
Thanks Sarah! Those vegan lemon bars were the trickiest! xx
Looks amazing! Great food whilst viewing amazing art. Brilliant! 🙂 xxx
It was so fun! Thanks Lucy! xx
Congrats Abe! Your brother is very talented. And in true vegged out fashion you gave us the menu from the reception. Well done!
Thanks so much Jim! I couldn’t hold the recipes back! They had to be shared!
Wow, babe. I’m in awe of Abe’s work – it’s stunning – and your beautiful spread of food, made with so much love. xoxo
Thanks Annie, it really was such a special thing to be a part of…. Just don’t ask me to do anything similar for a while 😉
Holy crab balls, Somer! You have just risen a step on the pedestal that I keep for you. And that is a lot considering you were already on the highest one!! Looks like an awesome event. There were a couple of pieces on the wall (pic with two guys on either side, one with hand and/or “cousin” in it) I could envision on my own walls.
Now. Go take a nap. For a few days. 🙂
I read this last night and laughed til I cried! Much needed comic relief! Glad you liked those prints. Pretty amazing, that’s Abe and my nephew and then my little niece. So fun to have all my family there. Yes, I dearly need a nap! xoxo
Your brother is super-talented indeed. Must run in the genes, Lady. Hugs.
MMMM I could go for some of the lemon bars right now!
I’m having a severe hankering to make another batch…. Maybe just a baby batch so I don’t eat the whole pan.
Wow, Somer! I would be so stressed out to make vegan food for so many people! You did a beautiful job . . . Well done! You make everything you do look so easy! Thank you for sharing the recipes as well. You continue to inspire me!
I admit it was a little stressful when I found out how many people would be attending (good thing I didn’t realize how many would really show up) but once I got a game plan together for food (far different from my original food plan). It was like easy methodical clockwork. But if you asked me if I would do another event like this…. The answer would be no. I had a several catering requests at the show and I had to turn them down. Just not my thing…. xx
love it all! nice job on everything!5 years…
Totally 5 years. Thanks for your support and input.. xoxo
Great job Somer! That’s a lot of food, holy cow! What a fantastic event to be a part of with your brother. So special!
It was a boatload of food! Thanks so much Brandi. I was totally honored to cater the show for him. It made me all emotional putting this post together. Super proud.
Fantastic! I’m just blown away by all that food, you superwoman!
The art is beautiful too. 🙂
